This is what i woke up to this morning . Dont panic, she is fine and going to be just fine!! Honestly, I'm glad this happened in the freezing cold instead of the summer when we have flies to worry about. My Sweet AHCA, tiny white female cow ( for facebook) DND's Soul Sister (will be 3 years old in May) broke the cap off her horn. This little turkey uses her horns for everything she tries to flip the protein tub over she tries to lift up the door in the stall to get grain. She's constantly using her horns more so than the other cows so think she might've been trying to flip the water tank or trying to break the ice overnight.
First ,we caught her using grain to get her in the stall. We then poured blood stop all over the horn to get it to stop bleeding. (if you do not have blood stop, you can use cornstarch) Next we gave her a shot of Banamine (anti inflammatory, for pain) We will watch her closely but she should heal just fine
